About this clinical treatment
Safe and Regulated Period Delay
A busy schedule shouldn't be disrupted by an inconveniently timed menstrual cycle. Our discrete period delay service gives you the flexibility to safely postpone your period for holidays, religious pilgrimages, sporting events, or weddings. Our clinical pharmacists provide a convenient, regulatory-compliant alternative to waiting for a GP appointment.
How Period Delay Medication Works
To safely delay your cycle, we offer a prescription-strength progesterone-based tablet called Norethisterone. This treatment works by safely mimicking your body’s natural hormone levels, preventing the womb lining from shedding until you stop taking the course of tablets.
Using the Treatment Safely
- Precise Timing: You must start taking the prescribed tablets exactly three days before your period is expected to begin.
- Duration of Delay: The treatment can be used to delay your monthly cycle for up to 17 consecutive days.
- Normal Resumption: Your regular period will normally return within two to three days after finishing your full course of medication.
Please note that our pharmacists will thoroughly review your health history to ensure this treatment is safe and medically appropriate for you before supply.

You must begin taking the tablets exactly 3 days before your period is scheduled to start. If you begin taking the medication after your period has already commenced, the treatment will not be effective.
No. Period delay tablets are not contraceptives and cannot be used to prevent pregnancy. If you require pregnancy protection during your trip or event, you must continue to use your regular non-hormonal contraceptive methods.
